Hidizs MP145: how much amplifier do you need?

The Hidizs MP145 is 30Ω with a sensitivity of 104.0 dB/mW, which is 119.2 dB/V. To reach 100 dB SPL — genuinely loud, louder than most people listen — it needs 0.40 mW, or 0.11 V across the drivers.

If it is per volt, the real sensitivity is 88.8 dB/mW — 15 dB lower at 30Ω — and everything above understates what these need by that much. The per-milliwatt reading is the one shown, because it is the more common convention on a spec sheet that omits the unit; treat it as an indication rather than a specification.
