Hidizs MP143 Salt: how much amplifier do you need?

The Hidizs MP143 Salt is 17Ω with a sensitivity of 103.0 dB/mW, which is 120.7 dB/V. To reach 100 dB SPL — genuinely loud, louder than most people listen — it needs 0.50 mW, or 92 mV across the drivers.

If it is per volt, the real sensitivity is 85.3 dB/mW — 18 dB lower at 17Ω — and everything above understates what these need by that much. The per-milliwatt reading is the one shown, because it is the more common convention on a spec sheet that omits the unit; treat it as an indication rather than a specification.
